Love Designs is a super neat company based in Burnaby! Yay for some local BC love. The kids had an absolute blast with these boards and I’ve been eyeing up the Christmas ones (already planning ahead!) They also have the BEST chalk board crayons I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried a ton. Kamloops Photographer - Family Session at Peterson Creek Park

Lisa reminded me of something when we started this session. Photos are kind of like a date. Especially for parents! It’s the one time a year (or 3 times a year for a lot of you) that we all brush our hair, throw some makeup on and make sure there aren’t any food stains on our clothes. Everyone is nervous and sweaty. (Photographer included!) But.. if you really commit to it and remain present, odds are you’ll have a good time.

I’ve been lucky to know Lisa since 2012! She’s a kickbutt mama and probably the sweetest person I’ve ever met. I photographed Sam’s 1st birthday and I think I went home with more stuff than he did. I loved all these special moments that I got to capture for this family. Both Abi and Lisa love Sam so freakin’ much, you can just tell from how they look at him. When I posted the previews Kyle said “I wish we had family photos like that!” which was just.. my favourite thing to hear. And it’s also a story for another time!

I really just think these photos should speak for themselves (and OH BOY there are a lot of them!!). But I’ll blather on a bit in any case! M was gifted this session from another new (amazing!) client of mine for her birthday. Birthdays make me SO nervous!! They’re a big deal, and I think for your big day you should get to feel extra special. I decided an hour before the session to bring along some dresses to make this a memorable event. AND IT WAS. I mean, this woman is radiant. I had the best time! It was almost like a styled shoot without all the planning and work for me!

The highschool graduates of 2020 have really gone through it all. But I think it just proves that there is nothing they can't handle.

When I graduated from high school 8 years ago.. my biggest worry was applying (late) for university. The graduates this year are surviving a pandemic. The sun came out just for them though, in between huge dumps of rain. We almost called this shoot off and I’m so glad Karma said let’s just do it, rain or shine!
