Downtown Kamloops Portrait Session with Emily-May Photography

It’s pretty crazy all the variety you can get in a 1 hour loop around Downtown Kamloops! We started at St. Andrews on the Square, then headed to my favourite parking garage for some fabulous roof top views. After that it was time for a quick change & off to the perfect neutral golden hour spot. We then continued down to Riverside Park for a few more photos.

I do my best to match a person’s energy to their photos. Having only chatted with Teresa via Instagram I knew she was a light and I wanted that reflected in her photos! I love getting to capture people as they are, and as the world sees them.

And if white angel wings aren’t your thing, You could always try out this killer set! Kyla willed them to be here in time for her shoot and absolutely SLAYED. Right now there are a ton of wildfires around us, there was ash and smoke all around. It made for the best lighting conditions possible. NOW LET’S TALK MAKEUP.

BECAUSE. OH MY GOODNESS.

Monica. Did a freaking amazing job, as per usual. Literally every stroke was flawless. And I know it because I zoom right the heck in to edit. Right now Monica can be booked through Ginger Turley Artistry. If you want epic, flawless, fabulous and glittery - you’ve found your artist. Kyla’s hair was styled by none other than Brittany Flanagan. You can see their work here! You might also recognize Brittany from her fabulous shoot with Jardines Domaine!

Kamloops Fashion Photographer - Team Collaboration with Emily-May Photography

As published in SHUBA Magazine! This beautiful team collaboration with some of my absolute favourite professionals in Kamloops, BC. A version of the last image was also seen in Harper’s Bazaar UK but was unfortunately altered & uncredited as submitted by Delayne Dixon. Even though there was a written agreement between the photographer and the designer stating that no edits were to be done by the designer, she took it upon herself to edit the images and leave the photographers name off. After lying multiple times and being caught in those lies, including photoshopping an email I was blocked by the designer and told good luck.

I counted myself so lucky to be asked to photograph this concept. I love the collaborative process. I love trusting that every person is there to do their own job and it comes together magically. I approach all of my shoots collaboratively, I don’t like to say no to things. I’ll try it all and if it doesn’t work it doesn’t work.

I think that’s another thing that I find so magical about creative shoots like this, you aren’t shooting for one person or one client. I want to make sure that every vendor and collaborator walks away with something usable for their brand. It’s one of the reason I shoot true to colour with a touch of commercial vibrancy. I’ve worked so hard the last 8 years to find my style & have it work for a large majority of brands and influencers.

Special thanks to the team behind this shoot!

Couple's Photo Session in Kamloops BC with Emily-May Photography

An absolutely stunning session from last week. Just before the peak of this heatwave too! This session was gifted to them for Christmas and I think it was just the sweetest. And this couple was up for everything! We did lifts, they danced, lots of smooching and laughing. They had also done their homework and had seen that I do pose my couples very cuddly AND I LOVE when people come prepared.
